Il blog WM Italia come rappresentante italiano del progetto, Wentworth Miller Fans For Charity, è lieto di invitare tutti i fans alla raccolta fondi in nome di Wentworth a favore dell’UNICEF, che da sempre aiuta i bambini in tutto il mondo.

Il progetto è stato concepito come un modo per i fans di Wentworth di dimostrare ammirazione e sostegno nei confronti del loro attore preferito, raccogliendo fondi in favore di una associazione benefica scelta da Wentworth.

In risposta alla nostra proposta, Wentworth espresse il suo profondo apprezzamento per l’offerta e ci suggerì che sarebbe stato per lui preferibile se le fans avessero scelto l’organizzazione benefica e che a sua volta anche lui avrebbe effettuato una generosa donazione assieme a noi. L’organizzazione che è stata scelta non è solamente un’ associazione a fin di bene, ma anche una delle più grandi ed internazionali, che speriamo farà appello alla maggioranza dei fans di Wentworth in giro per tutto il mondo. La missione dell’UNICEF è di mobilitare in tutto il mondo risorse, consenso e impegno al fine di contribuire al soddisfacimento dei bisogni di base e delle opportunità di vita di ogni bambino. Il quadro di riferimento di UNICEF è la Convenzione Internazionale sui diritti dell’infanzia, approvata dall’ONU nel 1989 e ratificata finora da 193 Stati, caratterizzata da un approccio centrato sui diritti e da una strategia volta a dare ad essi concreta realizzazione in tutte le fasi dello sviluppo della persona e in tutte le circostanze.

Wentworth ha successivamente mandato anche un messaggio ai fans in merito a questo progetto:

“È un privilegio per me fare parte del mondo dello spettacolo, un’industria che raggiunge e tocca le vite di miliardi di persone nel mondo. Mi fa uno straordinario piacere pensare che molte di quelle persone sono motivate ad aiutare altre persone a loro volta. Questo impegno caritatevole è stato concepito, organizzato e sviluppato da un gruppo di generosi fans disposti a donare il loro tempo e le loro energie per una nobile causa. Sono onorato di partecipare a questo progetto e vi ringrazio per fare lo stesso.” – Wentworth Miller

Questo progetto inizierà l’ 1 aprile 2008 e si estenderà fino al 30 giugno 2008. A progetto concluso, le donazioni raccolte in giro per il mondo verranno contate e l’ammontare raggiunto verrà pubblicato nei vari siti di supporto del progetto e comunicato a Wentworth con i nostri migliori auguri.

WENTWORTH MILLER FANS FOR CHARITY PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT

The participants in the project, Wentworth Fans For Charity, would like to invite all of Wentworth’s fans to join them in raising money in Wentworth’s name for the children’s charity, UNICEF.

The project was conceived as a way for Wentworth’s fans to show their appreciation and support for their favorite actor by donating to a favored charity nominated by him.

While expressing his deep appreciation for the offer, in response to the suggestion, Wentworth advised that rather than him nominating a charity of his choice, he would like the fans to select the charity, and he would make a generous donation to that cause along with them. Read it here.

The charity which was chosen is one which is not only an eminently worthwhile cause, but also, due to its vast international reach, is one which hopefully will appeal to the greatest majority of Wentworth’s fans around the world. UNICEF‘s goals for children are broad and all-encompassing. Their mission is to advocate for the protection of children’s rights, to help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential. UNICEF is guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child and strives to establish children’s rights as enduring ethical principles and international standards of behavior towards children.

Wentworth has also sent a message for fans with regard to this project:

“It’s my privilege to be a part of the entertainment business, an industry that has reached out to and touched the lives of billions of people around the world. It gives me tremendous pleasure to think that many of those same people have been motivated to reach out to others in turn. This charitable effort was conceived, organized and executed by a group of generous fans willing to donate their time and energies to a worthy cause. I’m honored to participate in this process, and I thank you for doing the same.”  Wentworth Miller

This project will run from 1st April, 2008 until the 30th June, 2008, so that anyone who wishes to make a donation to this cause in lieu of a birthday gift to Wentworth may do so. At the project close, donations from around the world will be tallied, and the amount raised will be published on the various supporting websites and be communicated to Wentworth with our best wishes.
